Coming soon: RESTORE, a couples trauma intensive

Why is it so much easier to extend kindness to others than it is to yourself?
-
You can be the person everyone leans on and still have an inner voice you’d never use on someone you love.
-
You can care about your partner and still not know how to repair the misunderstandings that keep weakening your foundation.
-
You can look capable and responsible on paper while treating your own emotional needs like they belong at the bottom of the list.
The difference between the grace you extend outward and the grace you allow yourself can get tangled up in the belief that “you should’ve known better.”
But how you treat yourself and how you respond to the people you love are often part of a larger braid of roles, faith, culture, old pain, and survival patterns.

At Grace and Growth, you have space to open up at your own pace, connect the dots, and practice being kinder and more honest with yourself or your partner

Meet Dr. Sonia Salmon-Gayle
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
PhD in Health Psychology
MS in Clinical Pastoral Counseling
National Certified Counselor
My path to becoming a therapist began with a call to advocate for people.
I first thought that calling would lead me to law. Instead, it led me to pastoral counseling, where I support people’s well-being with both clinical care and respect for their values, faith, culture, and lived experiences.
That same respect continues to shape how I practice today.
My role is not to impose my beliefs, but to honor the whole person, including the values, faith, culture, and sources of strength that matter to you as we make sense of what has been hard and practice new ways forward.
Small shifts, steady growth, and grace for the change that takes time
